What God Hates…

Love and hate.

I once heard a preacher say “Hate is NOT the opposite of Love”. He said “the opposite of Love is selfishness because God hates”.

Hear the Word of the Lord spoken through the prophet Malachi.

Malachi 1:2-3 (NKJV)
2 “I have loved you,” says the LORD. “Yet you say, ‘In what way have You loved us?’ Was not Esau Jacob’s brother?” Says the LORD. “Yet Jacob I have loved;
3 But Esau I have hated, And laid waste his mountains and his heritage For the jackals of the wilderness.”

Oh but you say…that is Old Testament.

Well, here it is in the New.

Romans 9:13-21 (NKJV)
13 As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not!
How could God hate someone he made? For we have from scripture…

1 John 4:7-8 (KJV)
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

So I beg these questions from anyone reading this. How can God hate? Or maybe better said, what does God hate?

Like it or not, the scriptures clearly teach that God does hate and that there are those marked out for destruction…

1 John 3:11-12 (NKJV)
11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,
12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.

Matthew 13:36-43 (NKJV)
36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”
37 He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.
38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.
39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.
40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.
41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

So, does God hate you?

I would say not so. For the scripture says this.

Romans 9:13-16 (NKJV)
13 As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not!
15 For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.”
16 So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.

And, so God has shown mercy. God has poured out his mercy through His Son Jesus Christ to our generation.

So God has demonstrated his great love for us by sending Jesus Christ his son.

Romans 5:6-10 (NKJV)
6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

All we must do is call upon the name of the Lord to be saved.

Acts 2:21 (KJV)
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Analyzing all this, it would seem to me that God does not hate the person…he hates sin.

For I can love my own children but yet hate unacceptable behavior.

And God does the same. God pleaded with Cain to repent but he would not.

Genesis 4:7 (NKJV)
7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”

But rather than ruling over sin, Cain decided to murder his brother Abel.

What about you? Are you one of these vessels marked out for destruction?

The good news is God’s mercy is available to you right now.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (NKJV)
2 For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

2 Timothy 2:19-21 (NKJV)
19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

Note verse 21 above. Anyone who cleanses himself can turn from a vessel of dishonor to a vessel of honor.

And this agrees with the Word of Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 (NKJV)
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

The choice is yours. Whoever will believe on Jesus Christ will be saved from the wrath to come and will find honor from God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NKJV)
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 15:33-34 (NKJV)
33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
34 Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

Galatians 5:16-21 (NKJV)
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Having so many warnings from scripture…I beg all men everywhere to repent and so did Jesus:

Mark 1:14-15 (NKJV)
14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

The choice is yours…

Joshua 24:15 (NKJV)
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

So will you be the one God loves or the one God hates? Remember, God so loved the world…he doesn’t hate the person…only their rebellious sin.

These Words Will Judge Many On The Last Day…

Matthew 5:18-19 (KJV)
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

But wait some say, didn’t Paul say that we were no longer under the law?…yes, he did…for Christians. But Paul did not mean that the law had been revoked. We as Christians are no longer in bondage to the law because we now by the Spirit of Christ Jesus establish the Law.

Romans 3:29-31 (KJV)
29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

But sadly many have twisted these words to their own hurt.

2 Peter 3:15-18 (NKJV)
15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation–as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you,
16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked;
18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

2 Timothy 4:1-5 (KJV)
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Why do we twist them? Because we have become a seeker friendly Nation seeking to build Mega Churches by avoiding God’s standards.

15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV)
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

When it is all said and done…it doesn’t matter what I think…and it doesn’t what others think.

Jesus Christ is the Judge.

Acts 17:30-31 (NKJV)
30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,
31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”

34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.
35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.

Sick or Not.

Sick or Not.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 (KJV)
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

The word translated from Greek to English for infirmity was…ἀσθένεια…phonetically astheniah…some think that if you have an illness then you are not believing God for healing…some of these same people refuse to believe that Paul had an illness….but the word is very clear about this.

In fact this same word root in Greek is used in the book of James but it is translated as “sick”.

James 5:14-15 (KJV)
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

So if you are ill… don’t think God has abandoned you. By no means…for sometimes God strikes us to draw us closer to him.

If he would strike Paul, then how much more us?

Galatians 4:13-15 (KJV)
13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.
14 And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
15 Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.

Jacob did not prevail with God until he was broken…after his encounter with the angel he limped the rest of his life. So, like Jacob, on our journey to the promised land we may encounter brokenness too.

Genesis 32:24-32 (KJV)
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

Psalm 119:71 (KJV)
71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

There is something about being ill or something about knowing that your last breath here will be your first breath there in front of your maker. It changes you. You are no longer afraid to speak the truth and are hard pressed to do so…knowing that great reward awaits those who stand up for Christ.

But I truly believe God is still in the healing business and it will come at the appointed time.

Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV)
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Psalm 103:1-6 (KJV)
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

So today…I will rejoice in my infirmities and let Christ be exalted as He will. For in my weakness, He is strong.

God promised…

God Promised…

God promised the promised land to Abraham and his descendants personally. While some of his descendants did inherit the land for a short time Abraham did not inherit it nor was he given the land…did God break his promise…NO.

Abraham owned nothing but a burial plot in the promised land…a place that was not given to him; that was purchased with his own money. In fact the owner tried to give him the land but Abraham would have none of it. Abraham was awaiting the day when God would give him the land. So Abraham purchased a burial plot to bury his wife Sarah…a sign to our world that he was waiting for the new world and the resurrection that was to come.

Jesus confirmed this when he said…

Matthew 8:11 (NKJV)
11 And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

For you see Abraham saw Jesus’s day and was told about it.

John 8:56-58 (KJV)
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

This whole incident and promise to Abraham speaks to the resurrection of all men.

John 5:28-29 (NKJV)
28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice
29 and come forth–those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

But hear why God did not immediately give the promised land to Abraham.

Genesis 15:16 (KJV)
16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.

Iniquity…sin…godlessness is like a cup that fills up as the inhabitants of the land transgress the ways of God. There comes a day when the cup is poured out and judgment comes. These laws were set in motion by God at the beginning of time. These laws are the reason Satan has power now.

These laws are still in place today. Some have perverted the Word of God by stating that the law has been done away with. This is NOT true.

If you have been taught this then you have been taught and have believed a lie.

For St. Paul and Jesus Christ himself spoke against this type of teaching knowing full well that people would get it messed up and that Satan would twist the scriptures to the destruction of many.

St. Paul on the existence of the law.
Romans 3:31 (NKJV)
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.

Jesus on the law….

Matthew 5:17-19 (NKJV)
17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Knowing then that the laws of God are still in effect for this world…we must fear and warn our world of coming judgment for violation of God’s laws.

Ezekiel 3:18-19 (NKJV)
18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.
19 Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

Hear the word of the Lord concerning nations that transgress His laws.

Leviticus 18:22-30 (NKJV)
22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.
23 Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion.
24 ‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you.
25 For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants.
26 You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you
27 (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled),
28 lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you.
29 For whoever commits any of these abominations, the persons who commit them shall be cut off from among their people.
30 Therefore you shall keep My ordinance, so that you do not commit any of these abominable customs which were committed before you, and that you do not defile yourselves by them: I am the LORD your God.’ ”

This statement does not just apply to the Jews…but to all nations. Ever wonder why God kicked the Amorites out of the land of Canaan? Well the answer was just given above.

So what of other Nations? What of our Nation?

Hear what Jesus said to the nations that refused to repent.

Matthew 11:20-24 (NKJV)
20 Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent:
21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.
23 And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
24 But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.”

How will the USA escape if we in apathy allow moral decay to tear us down to the point where fierce judgment comes from the Lord to vomit us out.

I can hear the Spirit say woe to you USA…for I planted you and established you a nation when you were weak. I sent revival among you and healed your fathers. Yet you refused to repent and grew more and more corrupt every day.

This is not a popular saying. But it is the word of God.

I love all men, no matter the sinner. So did Abraham…it is why he prayed for Sodom and Gommorah. Jesus loves all men. Its why he paid for our sins on the cross.

We live in a sick sin cursed world. And I must as a believer in Christ and follower of God warn every man lest I lose my reward.

Call me homo-phobe if you wish. But I’m not scared of homosexuals. I’m afraid for homosexuals and those that push their agenda.

Every fiber in my body is crying out to each and every man regardless of their sinful desires to repent.

Hear what John the baptist said about those who refuse to repent and accept Jesus Christ.

The Stranger and The Law.

Leviticus 19:32-34 (NKJV)
32 ‘You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man, and fear your God: I am the LORD.
33 ‘And if a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him.
34 The stranger who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Deuteronomy 10:19 (KJV)
19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Deuteronomy 27:19 (KJV)
19 Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Matthew 5:17-19 (KJV)
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

I would like to be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven….wouldn’t you?

As I ponder the scriptures I am more convinced of the moral laws of God that are still in place even today. Contrary to some teaching, they have NOT been done away with.

And if you think about it, this understanding of the law isn’t hard to believe for there is a law of gravity that is still in place from the days of Adam even until now. Would it not make sense that the moral laws would remain in place also? There is a consequence for every action of mine and yours.

But I also have come to know another law. It is the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2, Ephesians 2:8-10).

Some I know are saying that Christ has done away with the law but this teaching goes totally against the direct words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 5:17-19 and those of the apostle Paul (Romans 3:31).

So am I a legalist? No. I believe in the unmerited favor of God through Jesus Christ who washes away all my sins. But he does more than this…he changes my heart so that I can no longer live for myself or by myself or against God’s moral law.

Some would say this does not align with Paul’s teaching. But on the contrary, if you study the scriptures you see that Paul had a different frame of mind when talking about the law. Even St. Peter admitted that Paul’s teachings were hard to understand and that some have twisted them to their own destruction (2 Peter 3:16).

Not convinced…Here I’ll prove it to you. Take it to your teachers and pastors and see if they have the answer….I know they want.

In Romans, Paul says:

Romans 5:12-14 (KJV)
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

Do you get that from verse 14…the law comes through Moses.

John 1:17 (NKJV)
17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

So when did Moses get the law?…Exodus 20 perhaps on Mount Sinai with the giving of the 10 commandments?

Yet God expected his children to follow his law before he ever gave it to them on Mt. Sinai?

Exodus 16:4 (KJV)
4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

After reading the verse above ask yourself this question…What law? This is chapter 16 of Exodus…the children of Israel have not made it to Mt. Sinai yet to receive the law but yet God expects them to keep it. Why?

Ok, just one more. Think about Abraham. This is what God told Isaac about his father Abraham.

Genesis 26:4-5 (KJV)
4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

Ok, so God said that Abraham kept his law. What law? The Children of Israel hadn’t made it to Egypt yet nor experience bondage. They had not yet crossed the Red Sea or entered Mount Sinai for Moses to give them the law.

So what law did Abraham keep? I dare you, challenge you to find an answer because I don’t understand this myself.

Only that there is a law of God…a spiritual law. Paul calls it the law of Christ. It is the law that the Christian fulfills when he accepts Christ. Just as Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Why?

Because Abraham saw Christ and was preached to by Christ.

Galatians 3:6-9 (KJV)
6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

John 8:56-58 (KJV)
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

So we see then that even Abraham was made aware of Christ’s day and what would happen to those who would believe and those who would NOT. And Abraham believed Christ and was justified by faith.

I see then something marvelous, though I can not yet understand. There is a spiritual law according to Christ and there is a law given by God to Moses to help people come to Christ….this law of Moses is also a spiritual law but the attempt is made to satisfy this law according to our corrupt carnal nature which makes fulfilling this law impossible. Because in the flesh, you can not fulfill the law. It is only by the Spirit and regeneration of Jesus Christ that one can fulfill the law (Galatians 6:2, John 3:3, Romans 3:31).

God’s law has existed since time began. Just like gravity and other laws of science there are laws that God has set in motion. For every action there is a consequence good or bad. But then there is the Ace of spades, Jesus Christ….grace…that over turns any human failure on my part.

It all boils down to this…Obedience. God is looking for those who are after his heart and want to please Him.

2 Chronicles 16:9 (KJV)
9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

The law is NOT done away with. Even Paul said so…

Romans 3:31 (KJV)
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we [Christians...those who have come to Christ for the remission of their sins] establish the law.

Even as the law is NOT done away with, we have a future prophecy that foretells of a day when people will learn war no more. They will destroy their implements of war and instead use them to farm. And during this time there will be a place where people will go to learn God’s law…that is the law of Christ and all that pleases the Father.

Isaiah 2:2-5 (KJV)
2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

We have this prophecy not only from Isaiah but Micah as well. This fulfills the law that said “… In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established” 2 Corinthians 13:1. Note that God’s law will be taught. It has NOT been done away with or made void…

Micah 4:1-3 (KJV)
1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

But concerning the scriptures mentioned earlier about strangers I must admit that we are in a real fix. I am for border security and enforcing laws to enable the security of the USA. But I am also reminded that I can expect a curse if I vex a stranger.

Ultimately it boils down to this. We must love our neighbors…even strangers as ourselves and never forget that we are dealing with human lives. We should enforce our laws but we should also have an element of mercy that shows compassion to the broken and suffering whether they are native or strangers. For we have from scriptures that to do so pleases God.

And I so want to please Him. Don’t you?

But there is coming a day when strangers are no longer welcomed.

For you see we, strangers with God, have been invited to the Kings supper. Jesus will be there and will come and serve those who have followed him…

37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

Matthew 22:2-14 (KJV)
2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

It is one thing to be a stranger in this world. But please, don’t be a stranger to Christ…

Love Never Fails…

Love never fails…1 Cor 13:8

In the King James version of the Bible, Love is Charity…it says charity never fails.

So which one is it? Well its both. The word in Greek is agape love…Godly love. Its not just a mere statement of I love you but it is God’s love expressed in our actions.

One day while reading a religious document from a major Christian denomination I read that it was wrong to give tithes from the church to Charity. It said there was no scriptural support for this. I immediately thought to myself…what Bible are you reading? For the Bible I read says Charity never fails.

But if that isn’t enough…hear the word of the Lord concerning tithes.

Deuteronomy 26:12-15 (KJV)
12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;
13 Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them:
14 I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away ought thereof for any unclean use, nor given ought thereof for the dead: but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.
15 Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.

In ancient times during the times of the Israeli kings, the people got this love message messed up too. They were wealthy. God had blessed them. When you are wealthy it is easy to just say I love you in mere passing but never show love in your actions or with the power with which God Almighty has blessed you.

Somehow when we get money we forget that it was God that gave us that money and not the power of our own hand. This world teaches that the power of our own hand gives us wealth but God’s word does not agree with this worldly teaching.

Deuteronomy 8:11-20 (KJV)
11 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
12 Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
13 And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;
14 Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;
15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

20 As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God.

But somehow they fooled themselves and made themselves religious. Its a terrible thing to think you are religious but to break the heart of God.

One of the religious practices the ancients advanced was that of fasting. Man if you fast, you must be super religious…sounds like our day.

But listen to what God says about fasting. I think from this we see his heart concerning Charity, Love…Godly Love.

Isaiah 58:5-12 (NKJV)
5 Is it a fast that I have chosen, A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, And to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, And an acceptable day to the LORD?
6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10 If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday.

23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

So today…let’s keep God’s word in our actions…not just with our lips.

13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

God has blessed us and given us power to get wealth…but we must never forget to ask ourselves this question…am I building God’s kingdom or my own? Am I building God’s church or my own? I often find myself asking the same question over and over again because it is so easy for me to get caught up in what I want and neglect what God wants. Come judgment day I hope these words said here are not spoken against me..because believe me I am preaching to myself.

So, Let us have lips that are the fruit of our heart and show out in our actions and true Godly love one to another. For this true Agape Love, Godly Love…Charity…it NEVER FAILS.

Does anybody do this?…that is what the scripture says…what Jesus said?

1 Corinthians 6:1-10 (KJV)
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

Is God Searching YOU out?

14 I [Jesus Christ] am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

Call on Him now.   I guarantee you that your life will never be the same.

When God Puts You Somewhere…You Cannot Be Moved.

When God sets you on a rock then you cannot be moved! So glad I have found the rock….Jesus Christ….the chief cornerstone which the builders rejected….he has taken the outcast and rejected and placed their feet on a rock…..He is now my shield, my strength, my portion, deliverer, my shelter, strong tower, and my very present help in time of need…Hallelujah! Oh God Deliver Me From Blindness That Comes From My Stuff.

Can you imagine being like the prophet Isaiah or Jeremiah. Both of these prophets today are revered by Christians and Jews. But in the day in which they lived, no one would listen! For many of their contemporaries were rich and had great properties with abounding fruit. Isaiah and Jeremiah were treated like traitors…for they prophesied of a coming day where everyone would lose their stuff to their enemies…Oh God let not my stuff keep me from hearing from You or from those you have called to minister to this generation. Amen.

7 O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.

13 But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

Both Isaiah and Jeremiah would be regarded as fruitless preachers in our generation….like John The Baptist…They were the voice crying in the wilderness calling men to repentance….but no one would listen.

3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

John 1:22-23 (NKJV)
22 Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?”
23 He said: “I am ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Make straight the way of the LORD,” ‘ as the prophet Isaiah said.”

Matthew 21:23-27 (KJV)
23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
